Great night's sleep but woke up to rain. It rained on and off most of the day. A lot of hills and strong headwinds made for slow going. Still in the middle of nowhere with long stretches with no facilities. Should make mile 0 in two days time.

We found Skip's yellow canoe. I wonder who had to lift it up there?

One of the few cities along the route.

Gander has lost some of its importance as an international airport, but there are still lots of planes coming and going.

Getting close to the national park so the traffic is a little heavier.

The water you see is the Atlantic Ocean

Looking down into the village of Gambo not far from Terra Nova

If I wasn't on bicycle, I would have gone for a visit.

I must have made a wrong turn during the last downpour. Guess I have to check my GPS to see where I went wrong.

Since my computer battery went dead and I used the last of my spare batteries in the GPS along with the fact that both the tent and me were soaked, I looked for a motel. Most of the facilities are off the Trans Canada so after going through most of Terra Nova there was a sign that there was a motel in Charlottetown. They were full and turned me away. The next place was Port Blandford so back on the road. I found a nice B & B that had one room left. It felt great to have a shower, get all my toys plugged in for a charge and have a bed to sleep in.
